How Extractions are Done

Step 1 of 3: Remove Pathogens (3-5 visits)

  1. We begin by irrigating the entire mouth with and antimicrobial rinse to reduce the initial exposure of microforms into the blood stream.
  2. We then treat the periodontal pockets as needed with gross debridement, root plane and scaling and subgingivial irrigation in order to eliminate the offending microforms and calculus.
  3. Using the phase contrast microscope, we check progress.
  4. We end with full-mouth irrigation, microbial rinse and polish.
  5. We recommend holistic antibiotics, including garlic extract (allicin) and oil of oregano.
